Michael Robertson, was the only commuter student from Georgia Military College, who qualified for the NRA National Championships.  His scores were 87, 89, and 95,90,90,86 for a total of 537.

“The year went by so fast,” said GMC’s Coach Joseph Henao. “I’m really proud of Robert and the team, they worked hard all year and it showed at the end.”

“Shooting at Ft. Benning would have been an experience that I would have treasured when I was younger,” said Mary Ellen Benning Eaton.  I am excited for the team being able to shoot at the home of champions.

The NRA Intercollegiate Club Rifle Championships are shot by NRA College Rifle Clubs, Varsity Rifle Teams, ROTC Teams and independent shooters who all must qualify in the NRA Intercollegiate Rifle Sectionals. A Smallbore Championship and Air Rifle Championship are shot with scores combining for overall individual and team aggregates.

“Our goal is to boost the level of awareness, interest and support in collegiate rifle programs across the nation,” said Tori Croft, National Manager of the NRA Collegiate & Schools Program. “Each year the championships have been better than the last. I couldn’t be more excited about the future.”
