Message from the Senior Army Instructor (SAI)
Dear Students, Parents/Guardians,
The first 9 weeks of the 2009-10 school year have flown by. This year is turning out to be a great opportunity for all of our high school students at GMC.
The most important responsibility for cadets continues to be academics. Strong academic performance is the key to success in school and for the future. We have made significant improvements in the physical fitness program and cadets are working hard to prepare for a lifetime of fitness and health. I am challenging each cadet to improve his or her fitness level and continue to make healthy choices and live a healthy lifestyle. All cadets will take the Cadet Challenge again in the spring.
Cadets have already completed two Command Retreats and are working hard at Drill in the afternoons to prepare for the upcoming parades. Military bearing in 2nd Battalion is going very well overall. A few cadets need some extra attention to their uniform and a haircut, but overall the battalion looks great; they need to keep up the good work. High uniform standards improve the battalion discipline.
I want to reiterate the commitment of the JROTC Staff to developing cadets into well-rounded young men and women of character. I encourage cadets to be active in extracurricular activities across the campus and the community from special interest clubs and band, to sports. I want each cadet to be a leader, athlete, and scholar in the 2nd Battalion. I extend my best wishes to all cadets during the 2nd 9 weeks as they participate in Georgia Military College Prep School’s Junior Army ROTC Program.
GO BULLDOGS !!
