JROTC Program

The Junior ROTC program at Georgia Military College (GMC) (HS) is part of the national programs authorized by laws enacted by Congress and conducted by the Department of the Army in cooperation with educational institutions.

The JROTC program is specifically structured by GMC and the Department of the Army to develop future community, state and national leaders through a rigorous course of instruction that integrates academic, physical fitness, leadership, citizenship, ethics and basic military skills training.

The GMC Prep School JROTC program has been designated by the U.S. Army Cadet Command as an HONOR UNIT WITH DISTINCTION, the highest recognition for program excellence provided by the Army.

Cadets wear a uniform each day. There are two daily formations and drill periods that cadets have identified as their “leadership lab”, the place where skills and techniques learned in the classroom are practiced and refined.

In addition to a full spectrum of athletics offered at GMC Prep School, the JROTC Department provides interested, qualified cadets the opportunity to participate on: a highly competitive Rifle Team that continually places high in Georgia State Competition, a seasoned and well traveled Color Guard and a skilled and disciplined Drill Team. Of course, all activities are non-discriminatory and welcome both male and female cadets.

The experienced GMC JROTC staff of retired military officers and non-commissioned officers are dedicated to the guidance, development and training of our future leaders and citizens.
