ACCEL Program
The ACCEL Program (formerly known as Joint Enrollment) at Georgia Military College
Prep School is administered
by the Georgia Student Finance Commission and enables qualified seniors to attend classes at the junior college
and the high school simultaneously while earning credit for both their high school diploma and their college degree.
Other than the cost of books, this benefit is available to GMC Prep School cadets at no additional charge. Required courses
are English 101 and 102 and Political Science 101 and History 101. Successful completion of these courses satisfies the Prep
School requirements for English and Social Science. In the Spring, students have more freedom in their course selection
provided their choices are deemed core
curriculum courses by the GSFC.
Students participating in the ACCEL Program at Georgia Military College must have at minimum a “B” average
and have scored at least a 970 on the SAT with a verbal and math score of at least 450. A composite score
of 20 on the ACT with at least an 18 on the English and math sections is also acceptable. Parental permission and a
recommendation from the principal of GMC Prep School is also required. Participation is year long and
no cadet is allowed to withdraw from the program once they have enrolled.
