Cadet Awards
The purpose of the Georgia Military College Senior Reserve Officer Training Corps (SROTC) Cadet Awards and Decorations Program is to motivate cadets to achieve excellence in military, scholastic, athletic, and extra-curricular activities.
Awards are presented at military ceremonies and
functions throughout the year to cadets who have
demonstrated meritorious achievement and excellence.
Approved awards include trophies, plaques, ribbons,
medals, certificates, and military sabers. Unique
to Georgia Military College is the presentation of the
Saber Award to the outstanding company from each
battalion at the end of the school year. Guidon
Streamers are presented to each company throughout the year in the areas of excellence in
Barracks and in-ranks inspections, parade performance, academics, discipline and intramural
Sports participation. The companies that have been awarded the most streamers are selected
as the Saber Companies for that school year.
Also unique to Georgia Military College are the Order of the Centurion Medal and the Distinguished
Order of the Servant Leader Medal. The Order of Centurion is awarded to cadets who demonstrate outstanding
academic performance, leadership potential, and pass a rigorous physical fitness event. The Service Medal is
awarded to cadets who accumulate more than 100 hours of community service during the school year.
