The Humphrey family has made Georgia Military College a family tradition. Brenda Humphrey, matriarch of the family, was the first to attend and was followed by all of her children and daughter-in-law. Brenda started her studies in 2007, and after graduating from Georgia Military College with an Associate’s in Criminal Justice, she chose to continue her education at the University of Southern Mississippi.

The year after Brenda started her studies, two of her children, Amanda and Sean Humphrey, began attending Georgia Military College. Both have now graduated and continue their studies at Columbus State University, where Amanda is majoring in Early Childhood Education and Sean is studying Business Administration Management and Finance.

Currently, Brenda’s daughter-in-law, Brandi, and son, Vernon, are students at Georgia Military College. It started out with a desire for smaller classes and more individualized attention. It has resulted in a tradition- "It’s our spot," Brandi says. The whole family is oriented around education and is even planning for future generations of Humphreys to come to Georgia Military College Columbus.
