Marshal Greg Countryman
Muscogee County Marshal Greg Countryman is a distinguished GMC alumnus. Graduating from GMC in 1997, Marshal Countryman went on to graduate from Troy State University, Columbus State University and the Georgia Regional Command College. Now, Marshal Countryman has returned to GMC to teach Criminal Justice classes to new GMC students.
Some Marshal Countryman’s achievements include forming a Junior Marshal Program for middle school students, founding the “Yes” Teen Summit, and being selected as the 2006 Men’s Progressive Club Man of the Year. Under Marshal Countryman’s leadership, the Muscogee County Marshal’s Office was honored and ranked 2nd in the nation by the International Association Chief’s of Police- an achievement that was a first for any marshal’s office in the United States. Overcoming a learning disability and a stuttering problem, Marshall Countryman sets an example that with inspiring mentorship, it is possible to overcome hardship.
