New/Transfer Student Program
All GMC-Augusta degree seeking students who have already graduated from high school or have a GED are admitted as new or transfer students based on
whether or not they have preciously attended college elsewhere. For those students, the college experience is comparable to what you might expect to fin on
any other college campus where students are commuter students (that is, they live at home rather than in a dorm or residence hall). The wide selection of day,
evening and weekend courses are convenient to meet most schedules that have to balance school, work, and home life. There are a number of student
activities available in which they are able to participate as their time and inclination allows.
GMC offers the opportunity for the following degrees: Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and Associate in Applied Science.

Joint Enrollment/Early Admissions Program
Georgia Military College recognizes the need to allow talented high school students the opportunity to accelerate their formal education through
two programs: joint enrollment and early admissions.
Joint Enrollment: After a successful sophomore year, rising juniors and seniors who are on track to graduation may take college courses at GMC.
The student continues in high school, while taking college courses for credit.
Early Admissions: For academically talented students who have completed their junior year and desire to enroll as a full time student.
The admission standards for both the Joint Enrollment and Early Admissions programs require:
- A minimum SAT score of 970/ACT score of 21.
- A minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.00 or higher on a 4.0 scale in courses taken from the required 16 CPA (College Preparatory Curriculum) units.
- Written approval/recommendation of the high school principal or counselor.
- Written consent of the parent(s)/guardian(s).
- Exemption of all learning support requirements.

Transient Student Program and Non-Degree Seeking Student Program
Transient status means that a student is admitted to
Georgia Military College for a specified period of time,
normally a single term, with the understanding that the
student is to return to the prior college at the opening of
the next term. Transcripts of college work completed
elsewhere are not usually required of such applicants,
since they are not admitted to full standing at Georgia
Military College. An applicant who is enrolled in another
college or university and meets minimum Georgia Military
College freshman or transfer admission requirements may
seek a one-term admission to Georgia Military College.
Non-Degree seeking students normally already have a bachelor's degree or higher and have a need to take a few courses to meet specific job needs or entrance
requirements for another academic program. They are admitted to take a limited number of courses and are not normally eligible for most forms of financial aid.
They are required to furnish copies of their degree granting transcripts.
