GMC-Augusta Financial Aid at a Glance
Free Application for Federal Student Aid forms
(FAFSA): www.fafsa.ed.gov
Many students do not have the financial resources to
accomplish their educational objectives. Through the
financial aid programs, a combination of federal and/or
state grants, state scholarships, institutional scholarships,
work study and loans, Georgia Military College makes
every effort to assure that no qualified student will be
denied the opportunity to attend college because of a
lack of funds.
GMC utilizes the results of the Free Application for
Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in determining a student’s
level of financial need. This form may be obtained on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov
To complete it you will need your tax information from the previous tax year (and your parents if single and under 24).
You may complete it at home or at our Academic Resource Center at the Martinez Campus, 115 Davis
Road. If you have questions about the process or require assistance, the Financial Aid Office at the
Martinez Campus will be happy to provide the information.
The amount of aid available from most state and federal
financial aid programs is related to student academic load
for the term. Both the state and federal aid programs
recognize 12 credit hours as the “full load” benchmark
for maximum financial aid.
Georgia Military College will admit students in a
financial aid eligible status if the student would have
been eligible for financial aid at the previous institution
or if he/she has not been academically excluded,
suspended, or dismissed at the previous institution
immediately prior to enrollment at GMC.
