Pre-Nursing

About This Program:

The purpose of the pre-nursing program is to provide students a liberal arts based pre-nursing program of study through the foundational coursework credits and many of the pre-requisites needed for admission to a Nursing Program. The Pre-Nursing Program provides a holistic approach to the education of GMC students by emphasizing character education and critical thinking.

What You Will Learn:

  • Students will be able to relate the functions and relationships among the various organ systems of the human body.
  • Students will be able to demonstrate practical knowledge of human systems.
  • Students will be able to apply knowledge of the growth, cultivation, and control of microorganisms.
  • Students will be able to characterize host pathogens interactions and apply this knowledge to proper use of antibiotic/chemotherapeutic treatments.

Program Benefits:

Students are well prepared for admission to R.N. nursing programs throughout the state of Georgia and adjacent states. This program prepares student for completion of an R.N. program at a four-year institution or a bridge program at participating institutions.

A.A. - 98/102 Quarter Hours
A.S. - 93/98 Quarter Hours
